"i am confident you'll do great wherever you go.
you pay attention and have been
tremendously successful in college;
tremendously successful in college;
c'mon, i know, you were my student
and you're really smart and stuff."
i met with Kip (chair of the Education dept!)
on a sunny friday afternoon
for some final advice and we
chatted for an hour about my options,
Education, our lives and
pork sandwiches.
he offered so much encouragement
and it was reassuring how much
he believes in/knows me.
"i think you'll really like it there."- K
"you'd be happy there." -J

today, i had nowhere to go for 45 minutes
so i walked into a class to listen in.
it was a psyc course on perception and
we were shown crazy optical illusions.
i sat there, mesmerized.

yesterday, while sitting in the
waiting room at my dentist,
i read an article about why you should consider
raising your kids in a more
hunter-gatherer way.
not that everyone should
adopt all these practices
but they are interesting and
pretty beneficial if you
do it right/use common sense.
thanks jared diamond.

about 3 minutes into my phone interview,
i threw my notes away and just started
talking instead of rehearsing my script.
i felt so much better and could
actually say what I felt was true
and reflected who i am.
:)
first formal interview of my life!
it was so great.

she is so passionate, hilarious and real.
she is so passionate, hilarious and real.
i think i learned more in the 1/2 hour than
i have this entire quarter.
"bye june!" i said as she handed her
class their final exams.
"buh-bye love!" she responded.

"linda- you've done an excellent job of connecting theory to both aesthetics, art education and math as practice. you raise interesting issues and have keen insights into how aesthetic experience and observation can provide rich learning in many fields. thanks for a very strong and well-written analysis! your drawing is a perceptual feast!!"
