“Zoilo gets on my nerves. He smiles and nods whenever I speak to him, but whatever I say to him just doesn't seem to sink into that tiny little head of his. Sometimes he'll reply with an uh-huh or something else in furbish, but it just doesn't seem like he wants to carry on a conversation with me!”

i dropped in on june's class to listen to
her talk about her own research on urban education.
she is so passionate, hilarious and real.
i think i learned more in the 1/2 hour than
i have this entire quarter.

"bye june!" i said as she handed her
class their final exams.

"buh-bye love!" she responded.

"When you think about the purposes of education, there are three," Horne says. "We're preparing kids for jobs. We're preparing them to be citizens. And we're teaching them to be human beings who can enjoy the deeper forms of beauty. The third is as important as the other two."

"linda- you've done an excellent job of connecting theory to both aesthetics, art education and math as practice. you raise interesting issues and have keen insights into how aesthetic experience and observation can provide rich learning in many fields. thanks for a very strong and well-written analysis! your drawing is a perceptual feast!!"
