plants are up to something.
this place made me want my
little potted forget-me-not to start growing.
(you gotta start somewhere, right?)
my mom likes to wear orange shoes.

my dad told me my grandpa wasone of the top 500 doctors in china.
he was an herbologist, wrote books
& donated his collections to a museum.
i never knew that.
my dream job:
primatologist/archaeologist/botanist/rain forest ecologist/
ethnographer/ bookstore keeper/ museum curator/ bee keeper
who also has a successful etsy and sells illustrations/package designs.
i have plans to drive a forest green jeep
and have a golden retriever mix.

“There was a crazy-wisdom teacher in India named Saraha. He said that those who believe that everything is solid and real are stupid, like cattle, but that those who believe that everything is empty are even more stupid. Everything is changing all the time, and we keep wanting to pin it down, to fix it. So whenever you come up with a solid conclusion, let the rug be pulled out. You can pull out your own rug, and you can also let life pull it out for you.”

my sister and i used to karoke to mulan.
i asked her what she was doing a few days ago.
"sleeping....on your bed" was her response.

{winter quarter classes}1) ethnographies in europe
(with a focus on marginalized eastern european communities)
2) public art
(with a focus on new genre public art)
3) intro to visual arts
(overview of contemporary art/issues)
4) physical anthro/archaeology lab cont. indep. study.
(bones. blood. birds/database boringness)
i like observing connectedness.
all my classes seem to be gravitating towards
the same reoccurring themes, ideas, concepts.
it reassures me that
"everything is connected.
and the point is to know it
and understand it."

today was a good day, perfect if i may call it that:
1) section was sunny.
2) i skipped my first class this year because
i didn't want to risk getting shot.
3) i decided to walk back and it is like spring here for some reason.
4) i sat on a log in the woods and wrote a letter.
5) i saw 5 deer lying under the shade of a tree
and a girl was reading next to them. it was like a fairy tale.
6) i went dumpster diving with brianna with flashlights
and raccoons and fished out some water bottles for my
next public art project(inspired by Tapped which
might be a tad propagandistic but then again, what isn't?)
7) sassy installed photoshop onto my computer.
8) may gave me a late birthday present: the mini zen
garden i had been eyeing for the longest time.
9) although i get severe headaches from oscillated quivering,
mary and i just can't stop. it feels natural to us now.
10) i went downtown to buy a carton o' milk
and ended up getting 3 books from logos
and a shirt for $1.90 at salv. army too.
11) i talked on the phone with my mother and made her laugh alot.
12) i put tiger balm in my nose and my congestion got cured.

FREE MAGIC 8 BALL READINGS!
this is my public art project #1: FREE GIVEAWAY
(it could be an object, service, or trade)
addressing social space & trust
and the chance to engage in
interaction and conversation.
we managed to get a lot of participation from strangers
and heard many interesting narratives..
this man ended up standing next to that building
the entire afternoon watching us with his "family tree"
