"what do you think of this yoga mat?"
"I think it can be easily chewed"

“When the light turns green, you go.
When the light turns red, you stop.
But what do you do when the light turns
blue with orange and lavender spots?”

Why, gloom?
Sun come back soon.

It kind of resembles the moon
(when its big and yellow)
If you squint your eyes,
it can be easily mistaken for a lunar phase
when the geocentric apparent longitudes
of the sun and moon differ by 180 degrees.

we like to go to the sea
just you and me.

There they laid in incubators.
Tiny, helpless, and fragile.
One struggled to yawn (or breathe).
Most had deflated paper thin chests
and looked like they would tear if you touched them.
One opened her day-old eyes
and the black marbles stared curiously at me.
.
how lucky we all are
(to live)
.
welcome to the world;
day #1 of your itty bitty lives.

things make more sense
when you stop trying to make them make sense.

I don't think the neighbors
appreciate you picking their flowers.
But it's okay, I don't mind.
They make lava-ly marks for books.
"'What are you?" he said. "Ticklish or something?"
The world "ticklish" made me flinch. I let out a nervous laugh."'

pelicans!

Michelangelo would be pleased
ps: squirrels are indeed carnivores..
try throwing a piece of chicken at it!
It'll snatch it, stand on its feet, and nibble it up.
We sit on the stairs,
stare at our reflection,
lick popsicles printed with jokes,
and attempt to make green.

This must be somewhat what Meredith felt like on day 1.
Except to a much lesser extent.

The soft melody of the unknown violinist occurred once more today.
I sat on my balcony and listened,
hoping again their parents were strict,
and would force them to practice for hours.
A very peculiar looking moth fluttered past and landed on
my mom's flowers.
It was black with white criss crossing patterns
and had one of those long things
sticking from its mouth(a proboscis).
It feasted on flower nectar and looked quite content,
then floated away into the sky.

"Inertia oozed like molasses through Elaine's limbs.
That's what it must feel like to have malaria, she thought"

this heat is smothering
-but in the good way.

Deer, banana slugs, giant moths, and gold beetles!
Northern California has much more interesting creatures.
I feel like I'm going on a four year camping trip!
I step out of the car on campus and this is the first thing I see:
woods are everywhere
reminded me of climbing through a clubhouse
orange-y greenness
I gasped when I spotted it.
It was HUGE.
what friendly koi
downtown by the warf
ah :)

I gave CPR to a dummy for 3 hours today.
Resusci-Anne, who was actually male,
had to endure much from the three of us.

First, you shake the dummy
scream, "sir! Can you hear me? Code Blue! Active the AED!"
open air way, check the carotid pulse, 30 compressions,
and blow vigorously into its mouth twice.
*repeat 2-3 sets*

basking afternoon sunlight :)
Next Wednesday's the big day!
eee;
nervousness+curiousness+excitedness!

Saturday, April 11, 2009

I just ate half a bag of chocolate chips.
This happens to other people too, right?

Thursday, April 09, 2009

I took a deep breath
and I listened.

ah, there it is.

I dreampt we bought a new house.
My entire room was coffered and inlaid with blue floral designs!

yummy for my tummy
this is the creepiest thing I have ever seen
(actually, it's not but its pretty disturbing nonetheless)
Imagine it sitting on your sofa one day
when you come home from school,
waving at you.

P A S T E L E D.
I glanced in the mirror afterwards
and I looked like a chimney sweeper again!

so much for
" today will be my homework day!"
..
sflksdres! where'd the time go!

Sunday, April 05, 2009

Finally went grocery shopping.
(I haven't been for a while)
After imagining Michelle carrying her basket home from Trader Joe's,
I had to go out and do the same.
Ellen was dragged along too.
This was before the:
" um, I dropped my melon on your floor"

Peruvian rice, toasted French bread
with goat/cream cheese w/cucumbers!
they would touch noses, chirp and hop around wildly.
To the market of fleas we go.
Statues of Venus de Milo, print of The Gleaners,
dish with La Primavera, gold altarpieces
of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus,
and a miniature portrait of Vigee Lebrun.

and a case full of peculiar dollies with movable joints
of goats and cats and pigs and bats
with brooms and bats and wings and rats..

Friday, April 03, 2009

I had such good luck at the friend's bookstore yesterday.
-a bag of Impressionist art prints from 1972 for 25 cents!
Using it's stylistic characteristics,
I could name the artists:
Gauguin, Van Gough, Renoir, Cezzane, Manet!
then off to the Doc's and Den's I went.

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

I look forward to taking my cough medicine;
Little black glass bottles with gold caps.
You stick in a tiny straw
& slurp up curious tasting sweet nectar.
I have no idea what's in it.
All I know is that it expires in May 2010.

pretty little femur sittin' in my cherry dream boat
I got blessed 6 times today without sneezing once.
Everyone mistook my coughs for sneezing.

Esther from The Bell Jar has the most interesting sense of humor.
Sometimes, her ways of thinking and actions are quite similar to my own.
This does distress me tadly though, because she's
crumbling into a labyrinth of mental insanity
with the turn of each page!

"I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—
air, mountains, trees, people. I thought,
'This is what it is to be happy.'"
