got a pretty exciting email this morning
from uc santa cruz :-)

"I am writing on behalf of my colleagues in the Department of Anthropology to invite you to be a Writing Tutor for academic year 2012-13. The department, in collaboration with Learning Support Services (LSS), has undertaken the training of a select group of undergraduates to work as writing tutors in our courses. This will be a paid position (through LSS) and a really interesting opportunity to work closely with faculty members and peers to cultivate writing excellence among our students.

Your name has been submitted by one of our faculty members because of your outstanding achievement in writing in an anthropology course and I urge you to consider participating in our Writing Improvement Initiative.

Again, we have been impressed by your work thus far and feel you would make a great asset to our program."
