Summer school is over!
In a way, i like being forced to wake up at 6:30
The final was silly.
for example:

1. should you resist getting into a car with a drunk driver?
a) no. the chances are very slim that you will be in an accident
b) yes. but get in anyways if they refuse to listen

c) yes. alcohol is the #1 drug associated with teen death
d) no. alcohol does not affect the ability to drive

After a picnic at mason park today

I fell asleep on a rock reading

with mexican fiesta songs playing in the background.
When i awoke, ellen was no where to be found,
only tiny scorpian looking creatures all over me.
I think the women who walked by thought i was a hobo.

My new plant.
It is actually a weed uprooted from outside

and implanted into a jar with soil.

I just love waking up at 6:30 every morning

to go to summer school.

We played pictionary today

using words to describe an emotion or dealing with an emotion.
my word was "excited"
Amberneil's word(more like a phrase) was
"petting a dog"

Then steven lost his glasses and there was a panic.

after frantically searching, he found them.

They were in his glasses case.

last night my sister and i went to yogurt-land.
it is NOT space-themed...or "astronomical"
I got strawberry swirled
with newyork cheesecake
topped with strawberries
chesecake bites
and fruity pebbles!
it was quite good.

I started interning this week.

After a 4 hour long plasmid experiment
including lots of mixing, transferring, and centrifuging
i finally extracted pure plasmids free of proteins and other supernatants!
I also found these neon orange thick-rimmed lab glasses to wear.
they make me feel "mad-scientisty"
then after the gel electrophoresis:

muffins!

Summer.

thursday: CPK after school for CSA luncheon. My new friend, Emily, and i shared this pizza. Then pool partay at Maggie's casa. More pizza.

friday: leah's house bright n' early. got ice cream. baked cupcakes. target. made a dinosaur card.andrea's birthday party. more pizza. marco polo with ariana(andrea's adorable little sister). then triangle toss. then pulled her around the pool with a noodle.

saturday: ikea.browsed for a new car(for my sister). had trouble with complicated coffee machine. went to little india. got some exotic foreign foods.went to a resturant. then parents company. I did a lab experiment involving lots of chemicals, extracting DNA, destroying protiens, then centrifuging. Then i found this chocolate cake in the fridge and ate some.

wheee. see? it CAN fit 4 people.

The Spanish names for hummingbirds are very descriptive of their behavior:

Chupaflor - which means flower-sucker

Picaflor - which means flower nibbler

As well as the more romantic Portuguese Beija-flor or Flower-kisser

I skimmed through my blog and realized I didnt like it too much anymore.
So now there are going to be more artsy things.
Yes-That was the orginal purpose of the blog,
but it turned into excessive babbling and random pictures.

This type of thing usually only results during studying for a chinese quiz.

SAT classes are over!

I think i miss michael and his habit of cracking "jokes"

scrunching up his face when he talks,

and chucking chocolate pieces at us trying to get us to cram prepare for the real SAT
apparently.. he was "pissed" at our last scores.

my "war-themed" dreams are returning.

Last night it was about a nuclear fire-bomb dropping outside and everything was orange and hot.

studying usually results in this type of thingat SAT classes, michael told us to come back in 20 minutes.
Ellen and i walked to trader joes right outside.
i decided to get my mother flowers. mother's day and all..

10 things that are in the process of thinking about in my brain:

1. why this raviolli tastes so bad.

2. i hate killing bugs. even those pesty ants. i saved a spider, a bee, one ant, and a strange stained glass looking bug within the past 48 hours.

3. I am amazed at the sucessfulness. today while still in the pool, i read my history textbook. ellen warned me not to(like usual..), but no terrible occurance was bestowed upon me!

4. there was a HUGE 3 inch spider with long dangley legs above my pillow. I found an emtpy jam jar and trapped it with a piece of paper. i set it on the kitchen table and looked at it for 10 mintues. It kept on desperately trying to crawl out. So i set it free on the roof.

5. those silly workmen who must've miscalculated on measurements or broke some tube-ing because they flooded the street and even created an artificial lake!

6. did you know that pochantas was married off to some white colonist(not john smith), sent to england and even had a portrait painted of her?

7. I like the following bugs: honeybees and jewel scarabs.

8. where did mootchtaba "----kitty" went

9. there is alot of expired food in our fridge

10. i was minding my own business doing math homework yesterday and making CAWing noises. my sister tells me to shut up because i "sound like a stupid bird"

Santa Barbara

This was definitely one of the better trips.
After visiting UC Santa Barbara(which looks quite like UCI to me but better because its a few feet away from the beach..)
we spent the rest of the time exploring Santa Barbara(visiting a mission and a natural history meusum, playing at the beach collecting pretty rocks/shells, driving around downtown, eating at nice resturants, and staying at a Spanish Courtyard Inn).
