What a very long day.
Sadly, it isn't near being over yet.

somebody(martin?alex?)
wrote some words of wisdom on our wall.

Basking in afternoon lighting
is one of my favorite things to do
(along with buying fresh baguettes).

I like when everything is golden with perfection
like the top of a pie after it's been baked.
A very distinctive hexagonal patch of light
appeared on our floor(this picture isn't edited!)
I wish I had sat in it and attempted to engage in
deep philosophical thought
(or at least considered my topic for
the next/final core research paper..).
I'm skypping with my mother right now.
She just asked me:
"Hey, at what age did you start speaking?"
"How should I know? You're the parent!" :P

Apparently, I didn't start talking until pretty late.
My mom was worried/convinced I was a mute child.

this actually scares me a lot,
but me thinks it kewl.
I also don't know why my lower eye lashes
go into my eyeball. can someone tell me?
my face is kind of oil-y too, so don't mind that.

Kiva's voice droned and drifted into the wind.
We were all to meet at the base of campus
for class on the grass yesterday.
It was a 40 minute walk down there.

We sat under the sunshine and breeze.
I felt perfectly peaceful and content.
I stared at one blade of grass sway back and forth.
Then I entered into this dreamy trance
(that lasted for a somewhat long period of time).
ruminant mammals forming the family cervidae
inflict harm or damage upon members
of a community or their property.

Fred had it wrong
they sing honey hadn't burned
another curve in the counting is never served.

Campus was shut down today
(dining halls closed, no buses)
(3/4/10 [PEACEFUL NON-VIOLENT] protest).
We all walked/biked to the base.
weather doesn't get more perfect then today
cafe
front yard flowers on Bay st
I had never walked to town from campus before.
The air smelled sweet, like summer.
I picked blackberries and ate them along the way.
We strolled down a lovely forest/creek path
for a few miles to the Falafel House on Mission.

I got my research paper back.
I am pleased :-)

HOME!(irvine)

I remember at the brookdale lodge,
(back in october)
I saw a pretty girl wearing a dark green cardigan
with a cool backback, and glittery eye shadow.
Then she went on stage and started singing.
twas jade!

"A supernova occurs when a giant star,
one much bigger than our own Sun,
collapses and then spectacularly explodes,
releasing in an instant the energy of a hundred billion suns,
burning for a time more brightly than all the stars in its galaxy"

Friday, February 26, 2010

I let myself eat 1/2 of a cake that came in a bucket just now.
It was $1.99 at Trader Joe's.
I carried that back from downtown in the pouring rain.
I'm feasting on it to celebrate!

I heard the quote(2 days ago):
"what's there not to celebrate?"
and liked it
so i'm applying that to my life from now on:
dark was the night.

Thursday, February 25, 2010

[twenty-four more days until spring break]

I can't wait to ride Free Spirits.
and sip tea on my 4th favorite place in the world
Ryan (my astro "prof") mentioned something about m84 today.
there's too much sodium in the world.
grains of salt
fleeing from eyeballs.

I like art exhibits featuring girls.
And I like drawing pictures of girls too
(as opposed to boys, scenery, fruit portraits, etc).

I have the biggest urge to go an art museum.
I want to go to the Sfmoma & the de Young.
Luckily, San Francisco is only 96 kilometers(59.65 miles) away.

I got a small dose from a free exhibit in sf last month.
MOAR!
ahlex anda said he saw me wandering
into the forest with my camera.

I'm trying to imagine what an onlooker would see:
Me clumsily trying to walk across
thorny shrubbery with sandals on
(Apparently, I still haven't learned that
you can't wear them everywhere here).
And the crouching on the grass trying to get
a flower to focus.
hmmm.

they have german nicknames:
Ahlex anda and Klaus.
They've named me Greta[l?]

I, Greta[l?], wandered into this forest
(without Hansel) and saw this tree,
which probably means Babayaga is near.

Monday, February 22, 2010

O the things I'd be willing to do
in order to rid myself of this evil evil evil paper.
(it's even eviler because it's about evil).

uh oh, it has happened again.
When you look at/say a word so many times
that you don't recognize it anymore:
evil.
^the banality

gah. keel me! spare me!
O! this misery.
a yellow scarf,
the falling ladder.
tell me tell me what to do.
dropping to O
cold warm cold warm

To get pictures developed
involves a 40 minute bus ride :/
(because I only trust walgreens)
I sit at the pharmacy and do my homework.

bright & colorful
The pharmacist gave a lady a flu shot.
I was sitting 1 foot away, reading.
buy chemicals for your hair.
i'm a bird
uno dos tres! :D

Thursday, February 18, 2010

a hobo cheered me up.
he made the gray disappear.
---
I'm going to take a picture of this^
everyday until i run out of ideas.

I'm also excited for SPRING2010 classes.
I'd like this quarter to be over.
stevenson core, i feel love mixed
with a good amount of hate
regarding your existence.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I wandered into the forest just now.
Thorns poked into my feet
and ants were crawling on my wrist.

the view
i lifted up a log, and he crawled out
everything was green brown and yellow
thin-ness
yes, control those pests.
I don't want to be inside.
I don't want to go to class!
I don't want to write the paper!
(at least I have blueberries & kiwis)

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Nadya picked a yellow flower
& put it in my hair today.

this is my nest
whatever a moon and a sun
''''
(i carry) it.
scents trigger flashbacks.
when i inhale my own perfume,
my entire life flashes by.
wafting into the core of my being
like scraps of time.

New Order-Ceremony

Ellen and I gave life to this cake
many years ago.
I'd like a slice right now.
For dessert, I had canned peaches.
I stabbed at them.
They sloshed & got angry.
"...a way to travel through the human heart (1995, p. 324)."
---
I laid sprawled under the peaceful sun.
A little black bug crawled onto my skin and died.
---
now sitting in the stevenson library, cooped up indoors once again.
collecting articles and formulating a thesis
i want this to be over :X

It's actually warm for once.
someone is cooking in the downstairs kitchen.

into my window!

sometimes, you can just look at someone and know
they are slowing winding down the path to insanity..
(they don't seem to be aware of it either).

they are kind of like machines who
will reach that inevitable self destruction.

this all reminds me of Esther
-the bell jar, it looms.

on a brighter note,
my work ethic today has met skyrocketing productivity!

Arch bone lab write up
Arch site survey write up
arch quiz
global action paper
astro hw#6

arch paper on instrumental neutron activation analysis

just a research paper on Ida Fink & the problem of evil to go!

(i woke up feeling hopeless, but now
this must be how the light gets in!)

four way chat
four cities:
Hyde Park, Irvine, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz!
my day, engrossed in work.
I'd like some strawberry jam.
I was considering going home this weekend
(it's chinese new year).
But I have no ride & 4 papers to write.

I did nothing today except sit on Jeff's bed with his
super fancy sound blocking head phones & my laptop for 5 hours.
He and Joseph had a febreeze/oust spray war.
...
trees by the cafe
from a while back
(there's one of her giving the glare of death
-it was ~*creepy*~)

sometimes, there is this churning-ness.

Renárd V de Boúrbon
good luck & goodnight.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

From now on, some days might be
associated with an animal theme.
Yesterday was bird, today will be deer
since I played with deer mandibles today.

{deerh00f}

salvation army can be compared to pandora's box,
(but with odd scents).
I haven't drawn a picture in a long time.
For lab, we sketched zebra bones gnawed by hyennas.
